I hope this letter finds you well! I write to you from the Ivory Coast in Africa where I have been spending the month with local government and village leaders, other successful Ivory Coast non-profits, and the team at the Ivory Coast Mothers and Children (ICMC) Clinic to discuss best practices and strategize how we can further our goals of running a successful sustainable maternity clinic and immediate care facility.

Traveling with me is Theresa VanderMeer, who is the Founder and President of Work+Shelter, a non-profit that creates safe places in India where women can come to work and make a fair wage. Theresa will be conducting her own fact-finding mission to search for raw materials and to work with local women to assess both their interests and their skills in creating clothing for US designers to sell. Her hope is that the successful model implemented throughout India can be replicated here in the Ivory Coast.

Of course those of you who know me know my visit won’t be all business. The village of Braffoueby feels like a second home for me. Visiting with the people who live in this wonderful community and benefit from ICMC everyday is a remarkable experience and would not be possible without the support from individuals like you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May this holiday season bring you and yours much joy!

Sincerely,

Patsy
