EXPANDING CARE
Our goal to build a small center on the campus where well babies, mothers and children can be vaccinated and treated has been completed. The clinic has now treated over 35,000 people from all over the area. The clinic can now accommodate very sick people waiting for care away from newborns and expected mother. We are not sitting idle and never will knowing that mothers are not having their children vaccinated or seeking prenatal care for fear of exposing themselves to communicable diseases. The separate structure a safe distance away from the crowded clinic will now protect the babies and their mothers. We still need funding for ceiling tiles, and other odds and ends.
Some of you remember when we installed over 40 sinks in classrooms in 2 villages. That was over 4 years ago! We now have over 80 sinks… now functioning with clean soap and water. Donations for repair and ongoing plumbing maintenance will continue to protect the teachers and students through proper handwashing.
Even in times of crisis our work is so desperately needed, and your support is appreciated now more than ever. When the urgency is lifted, the clinic will remain, and we will continue to deliver what is needed and wanted to the people who are counting on us.
